I am thrilled to report that my agent, Hilary McMahon of Westwood, has sold my manuscript-in-progress, Gone to the Dogs: Riding Shotgun With K9 Cops to Peter Joseph at Thomas Dunne. This book will be an account of the exciting, harrowing, and sometimes painful adventures I’ve had on the road riding with various canine teams, getting to know the men, women and dogs who do this difficult work. This week in Santa Rosa, I’ve seen K9s work in jail, in helicopters and on the street.
I have so many people to thank, of course, but for now, I’d like to start with my wife, Isabelle, who has supported me every step of the way; my agent, Hilary McMahon, whose enthusiasm and belief in this project has been a north star, guiding me in the right direction without fail; my editor, Peter Joseph, who knows dogs, knows books, and believes in this one, and of course the incredible dogs and handlers, who have extended to me the great privilege of entering their world.
